Swim 4 Stroke
Swimming and being around water was my lifelong passion. But what happens when you have a sudden life changing stroke at the age of 35, suffering from paralysis, chronic fatigue, anxiety and depression, with an 8 month old baby?
This did not stop me from relearning to swim again, then pursuing my dream of doing an ocean swim series in my hometown Auckland, New Zealand. I achieved my goal of swimming 4.6km with one arm across Auckland Harbour and raised NZ$22,000 for The Stroke Foundation Northern Region.
I hope you enjoy reading my inspirational story and can find your own path to recovery and living the life you dream even with a disability.
Do not let stroke hold you back from doing anything you dream of.
My book is for anyone who has had a stroke or traumatic brain injury, especially young Mums. It may also be beneficial for carers and family of stroke survivors.
